You can count the number of chain restaurants in downtown Kennewick on one hand and have enough fingers left over to properly hold a golf club. In this part of town it’s easy to find a restaurant owner: either in the back, making the food, out talking with patrons to make sure they like the meal or behind the bar.
Everything from coffee shop cafe fare to authentic Italian family-style meals to a basic bar burger (big, simple and GOOD) to the best fish and chips and town are all within a few blocks. So are many fine wines, as Zinful, The Roxy and others feature an excellent selection of the best wines from Washington’s Wine Country and beyond.
Ice Harbor Brewery – Kennewick’s own brew pub — has two locations downtown. Their first home here was along the tracks, just off of Benton Street. They still brew a wide range of beer and serve lunch and dinner there. A few years back, Ice Harbor opened a brand new brew pub on Clover Island, and from there — among other lunch and dinner offerings — serve the best halibut and chips on the Columbia River.
