Mission and Goals

Organization Committee Goal:
“Develop a strong leadership team that encourages stakeholder involvement and attracts the financial resources needed to support on-going revitalization efforts.”

Objectives:
Increase communication throughout the downtown
Increase volunteer support from outside the Downtown boundaries.
Develop a Policy and Procedure manual for the operation of the organization including board member roles and responsibilities.
Create new business welcome package.
Continue to grow Annual Downtowner Banquet.

Design Committee Goal:
“Create an inviting downtown by preserving historic buildings, encouraging more public art, building maintenance, and enhance the pedestrian safe and clean environment.”

Objectives:
Continue public art program.
Give input on opportunities to improve linkages to Clover Island and riverfront development to take advantage of the proximity to the river.
Provide a safe and clean downtown by enhancing maintenance efforts.
Move beyond Façade Improvement Program – seek new committee members
Explore alternative art mediums

Promotion Committee Goal:
“Promote downtown as a one-of-a-kind location where you can experience the
best the region has to offer.”

Objectives:
Expand Classy Chassy Show and Shine
Build Grapefest
Continue Downtown for Three
Continue Halloween

Economic Restructuring Committee Goal:
“Create a vital and stable economy by enhancing the downtown business environment.”

Objectives:
Serve as downtown’s chief advocate for the Historic Overlay
Identify the business mix for in-fill retail to support the overall direction of the downtown.
Explore education program for downtown businesses.
Encourage the development of the art community to add vitality to the district.
