SOCO Creative Arts Festival in Downtown Kennewick was first piloted as “Alfresco” in 2020 as one of our resiliency experiments to help downtown businesses. By creating pedestrian-only public spaces that expanded the outdoor dining and shopping opportunities which attracted customers to downtown Kennewick during the height of the COVID Pandemic. 

This street festival series showed us the wide variety of artists, makers, and creatives who live, work, and love Downtown Kennewick. With the October 2021 designation of the South Columbia Creative District (SOCO) within downtown Kennewick, we saw an opportunity to evolve our “Saturday Alfresco” concept into a bigger creative arts festival that celebrates and showcases the creative talent and makers of our community.
